waternumbers is proud to be working with a number of leading UK and international institutions on the Landslide EVO project which is promoting and developing methods for citizen science to contribute to Landslide Risk Reduction and Disaster Resilience building in Mountain Regions. This project is funded by NERC (Natural Environment Research Council) and DFID (Department for International Development) under the UK SHEAR (Science for Humanitarian Emergencies and Resilience) programme (grant number NE/P000452/1).

waternumbers will be contributing it skills in precipitation nowcasting, blending and flood forecasting to further the project goals.

Working with Practical Action Consulting and the Dept. of Hydrology and Meteorology, Govt. of Nepal waternumbers developed a robust procedure for forecasting future water levels based on real time data. Following training this was adopted in basins across Nepal as part of the operational warning system for the 2016 monsoon to enhance existing Community Based Early Warning Systems.
